Neptun-Olimp Intercommunication System
The Neptun-Olimp project begun in 1996 and since 1998, the communication system has been fully operational.
Traffic is controled by a digital telephone exchange Harris MAP 20-20 (from the Harris/Teltronics 20-20
family), together with the afferent equipment. The 20-20 digital telephone exchange is connected
to the national telecommunication network (Romtelecom). The local area connection uses fiber optics (HOTELS) and
telephone cable. This way, we can provide simple, fast and secured access to the internet from
anywhere in the system. There is only one E1 span bidirectional to the external telecommunication
network. This way, we are able to fully register the traffic and send the beneficiary complete and
detailed billing reports. The telephone calls are free for all subscribers of the local system
communication. The system permits the connection with any number of new users and direct
phone number allocation. We configured this telecommunication system with a wide range of
specific hotel applications, according to local needs.
Implemented Hotel Applications:
- IVR InfoCenter
- Vocal message box
- Direct local/long distance/international calls from the room
- Automatic Wake-Up
- Check-in/Check-out
- Message Waiting
- Room Status
- Call Back
- Conference
- Detailed Billing Reports
- Group Hunt
Benefits:
The benefits of such a telecommunication system depend on the high flexibility of the
communication system infrastructure. The system is designed to allow users (guests, visitors,
employees, suppliers, etc) to receive highly secured telecommunication services. The system also
provides a constant, real-time communication between groups of employees and supports VOIP
services. It has the possibility of accomodating new technologies and service offerings.
The Neptun-Olimp communication system also incorporates an InfoCenter service which allows users
fast and convenient access to useful information about the Neptun-Olimp Area.
The private telecommunication network has extended ever since. There is a fifty kilometer fiber optic highway
that reachs Constanta harbor with a second communication node that allows an important traffic control of Romanian
coast.
