Modules of the 20-20 IP-enabled Solution
The 20-20 IP Modules allow you to enable your 20-20 system for high-quality voice transmission
over an IP network.
IP Trunk Unit
The IP Trunk Unit (IPTU) is a point-to-point gateway between two 20-20 systems that allows
voice traffic over an IP-based data network.
IPTU Benefits:
- Allows sharing of centralized applications – centralized voicemail and network-wide
attendant – across an IP Telephony Network
- Provide access to Network-wide features – calling-line ID, Caller Name Display, Camp-on and Call
Back – available for all calls across the network
- Reduces communications and support costs via converged network
- Two operational modes - Point-to-point - Multi-point
- Integrates with existing 20-20 operating systems from version 25 and up
IP Station Unit
The IP Station Unit (IPSU) is a station side module that connects VoIP telephone sets to the 20-
20 over an IP-based network. The addition of the IPSU allows a smooth transition to VoIP at the desktop while
maintaining all current capabilities of the 20-20 system.
IPSU Benefits:
- Simplifies management and reduces facilities costs by allowing a single IP network to provide
both voice and data communications
- Allows existing IP data networks to support IP telephones
- Two Operational Modes - Extension for mapping digital phone features to VoIP Telephones
- Analog extensions for soft phones
- Increases choices of desktop appliances
IP Gateway
The IP Gateway (IPGW) provides a true multi-point, IP network solution. Calls are routed through
the IP network as virtual connections to other Gateway-equipped 20-20 systems or to standards-based H.323
gateways. The 20-20 system also connects transparently to other VoIP telephone systems at the packet level
without going through analog or digital gateways-decreasing latency and unnecessary costs.
IPGW Benefits:
- VoIP interface to H.323 networks
- Enables the 20-20 to become an H.323 Gateway to the PSTN
- Reduces long distance and international toll charges
- Provides additional options for connecting to other vendor’s equipment
IP Telephones
The Teltronics family of IP Phones provides a state of the art desktop solution. These phones use an enhanced
H.323 feature set that allows IP station users to access all existing 20-20 subscriber features as well as
additional IP-enabled telephone features.
