IXP 20-20 IP Enabled
VoIP Networking Implementation
Voice over IP (VoIP) refers to a way to carry phone calls over an IP data network, whether on
the Internet or an organization's own internal network. IP telephony encompasses the full suite of telephony
services enabled by VoIP, including the interconnection of phones for actual communications and basic features
such as conferencing, transfer, forward, and hold. IP Communications also include
business applications that enhance communications to enable applications such as unified messaging,
contact centers (call centers), and rich-media conferencing that combines voice, data, and video. Find out how integrated voice,
video and data networks can lower costs and provide companies with productivity and benefits.
Teltronics 20-20 IP enabled incorporates a blend of voice and data communications in a single
converged system. The transition to VoIP takes place in a controlled fashion
without disruption of telephony services while converged voice and data networks are established.
Teltronics initial offering introduces VoIP products as upgrades to the 20-20 system. The most frequently
requested upgrades are gateways, IP telephone sets and the ability to interoperate with other systems. The
Teltronics 20-20 VoIP offering includes a variety of modules to VoIP enable every aspect of the system.
Modules of the 20-20 IP-enabled Solution:
IP Trunk Unit
The IP Trunk Unit (IPTU) is a point-to-point gateway between two 20-20 systems that allows
voice traffic over an IP-based data network.
IPTU Benefits:
- Allows sharing of centralized applications – centralized voicemail and network-wide
attendant – across an IP Telephony Network
- Provide access to Network-wide features – calling-line ID, Caller Name Display, Camp-on and Call
Back – available for all calls across the network
- Reduces communications and support costs via converged network
- Two operational modes - Point-to-point - Multi-point
- Integrates with existing 20-20 operating systems from version 25 and up
IP Gateway
The IP Gateway (IPGW) provides a true multi-point, IP network solution. Calls are routed through
the IP network as virtual connections to other Gateway-equipped 20-20 systems or to standards-based H.323
gateways. The 20-20 system also connects transparently to other VoIP telephone systems at the packet level
without going through analog or digital gateways-decreasing latency and unnecessary costs.
IPGW Benefits:
- VoIP interface to H.323 networks
- Enables the 20-20 to become an H.323 Gateway to the PSTN
- Reduces long distance and international toll charges
- Provides additional options for connecting to other vendor’s equipment
